UR HOSTED THE 7TH WORLD HEALTHCARE STUDENT SYMPOSIUM (WHSS)

The7th World Healthcare Student Symposium (WHSS) is an international conference that gather health students and professional and took place for the first time in Africa, in Rwanda Kigali from 23-27, 2017.During the conference more than 1200delegates from all over the world convening in the University of Rwanda will debate, build international friendship and develop collaboration towards better service deliver in medical sector. The7th WHSS will converge on the theme of Towards SDGs Agenda 2030: The role of a multidisciplinary approach in healthcare.
Phn. Janvier KABOGO Chairperson, WHSS 2017 during his welcome remarks thanked the vice chancellor of the University of Rwanda, the Advisory board, members of the organizing committee as well as different partners for their support and guidance in the preparation of this conference.”WHSS 2017 huge success reflects what students can achieve if they are supported, given opportunity and a chance to get involved and take the lead.”He said
Prof. Philip Cotton, the vice chancellor of the University of Rwanda and Patron of WHSS 2017 welcomes the 7th WHSS to Rwanda and also congratulate the RPSA (Rwanda Pharmaceutical Students Associated) as well as the organizing committee on bringing congregation to Kigali city. “UR is always supportive of students’ initiatives especially those that bring positive change to the lives of people locally and globally” He added

Dr. Papias Malimba Papias, Minister of Education presiding over the opening ceremony highlighted the role made by the government of Rwanda in health service delivery such as enabling the public to get all health related information as well as online sexual and reproductive health.
