The Master of Medicine (MMed) in Neurosurgery is a fsix-year, hospital-based specialist training program designed to prepare physicians for advanced surgical management of disorders of the brain, spine, and peripheral nerves. The program combines structured academic instruction with progressive supervised operative training, including emergency and elective neurosurgical care, neurotrauma management, and exposure to advanced neurosurgical techniques. It emphasizes competencies in neurosurgical decision-making, operative skills, perioperative care, and multidisciplinary management of neurological conditions, alongside research and quality improvement, preparing graduates to serve as competent neurosurgeons within Rwanda’s health system and beyond.
