The Master of Medicine (MMed) in Internal Medicine at the University of Rwanda, College of Medicine and Health Sciences, School of Medicine and Pharmacy, is a four-year, hospital-based specialist training program designed to prepare physicians with advanced expertise in the prevention, diagnosis, and management of adult medical conditions. The program combines structured academic teaching with progressive supervised clinical rotations across major subspecialties, including cardiology, nephrology, endocrinology, pulmonology, gastroenterology, and infectious diseases. It emphasizes competencies in clinical reasoning, comprehensive patient care, emergency management, and evidence-based medicine, alongside research and quality improvement training, preparing graduates to serve as competent internists and future subspecialists within Rwanda’s health system and beyond.
