The Master of Medicine (MMed) in Anatomical Pathology is a four-year, hospital- and laboratory-based specialist training program designed to prepare physicians in the study and diagnosis of disease through examination of tissues, cells, and organs. The program combines structured academic teaching with supervised practical training in histopathology, cytology, and autopsy pathology. It emphasizes competencies in diagnostic interpretation, disease classification, laboratory quality assurance, and clinicopathological correlation, alongside research and quality improvement training, preparing graduates to serve as competent anatomical pathologists within Rwanda’s health system and beyond.
