Kigali, Practicing in Teaching Hospitals
The Fellowship in Adult Cardiology is a subspecialty clinical training program designed to equip physicians with advanced expertise in the prevention, diagnosis, and management of cardiovascular diseases in adults. Delivered through structured, hospital-based training over approximately 2–3 years, the fellowship combines advanced academic instruction with intensive supervised clinical practice in cardiology units, including exposure to non-invasive and invasive diagnostic procedures. The program emphasizes competencies in cardiovascular risk assessment, echocardiography, cardiac imaging, interventional cardiology fundamentals, and long-term patient management, alongside research and academic development, preparing graduates to serve as specialist cardiologists within Rwanda’s health system and beyond.
