The Fellowship in Pediatric Cardiology is a subspecialty clinical training program designed to develop advanced expertise in the diagnosis and management of congenital and acquired heart diseases in infants, children, and adolescents. Delivered over 3 years through hospital-based training, the program combines structured academic instruction with supervised clinical practice in pediatric cardiology services, including diagnostic and interventional exposure. It emphasizes competencies in fetal and pediatric echocardiography, congenital heart disease management, pediatric cardiac emergencies, and long-term cardiac care, alongside research and quality improvement training, preparing graduates to serve as specialist pediatric cardiologists within Rwanda’s health system and beyond.
