The Fellowship in Adult Gastroenterology and Hepatology is a subspecialty clinical training program designed to develop advanced expertise in the diagnosis and management of gastrointestinal and liver diseases in adults. Delivered over 2 years through hospital-based training, the program combines structured academic instruction with supervised clinical practice, including exposure to diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy. It emphasizes competencies in the management of digestive disorders, liver diseases, and gastrointestinal emergencies, alongside training in clinical decision-making, research, and quality improvement, preparing graduates to serve as specialist gastroenterologists and hepatologists within Rwanda’s health system and beyond.
