The Fellowship in Maternal Fetal Medicine at the University of Rwanda, College of Medicine and Health Sciences, School of Medicine and Pharmacy, is a subspecialty obstetrics training program designed to develop advanced expertise in the management of high-risk pregnancies and fetal conditions. Delivered over 2 years through hospital-based training, the program combines structured academic instruction with supervised clinical practice in obstetric and perinatal care units, including advanced fetal assessment. It emphasizes competencies in high-risk pregnancy management, fetal monitoring, obstetric ultrasound, prenatal diagnosis, and management of maternal and fetal complications, alongside research and quality improvement training, preparing graduates to serve as specialist maternal-fetal medicine experts within Rwanda’s health system and beyond.
