The Fellowship in Adult Rheumatology is a subspecialty clinical training program designed to develop advanced expertise in the diagnosis and management of autoimmune, inflammatory, and musculoskeletal disorders in adults. Delivered over 2 years through hospital-based training, the program combines structured academic instruction with supervised clinical practice in rheumatology services, including outpatient and inpatient care. It emphasizes competencies in management of conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus, gout, vasculitis, and connective tissue diseases, alongside research and quality improvement training, preparing graduates to serve as specialist rheumatologists within Rwanda’s health system and beyond.
