The Fellowship in Otology is a subspecialty ENT training program designed to develop advanced expertise in the medical and surgical management of ear and hearing disorders. Delivered over 2 years through hospital-based clinical training, the program combines structured academic instruction with supervised practice in otologic surgery and audiological care. It emphasizes competencies in management of hearing loss, chronic ear disease, otitis media, balance disorders, cochlear and middle ear surgery, and skull base–related ear conditions, alongside research and quality improvement training, preparing graduates to provide specialized otology services within Rwanda’s health system and beyond.
